Horror You Crave (Story #’s 2, 5, 6, 23, & 28)
The Brain Eater #2 (Horror You Crave Series)
By Julio Miranda
The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):
This is short but pretty interesting. Essentially it's about a monster hunter that works contracts killing monsters. The monster in this story has a hunting ground within the night life club scene. I guess that makes sense. It disguises itself as an attractive 20 something woman with a nice figure and revealing clothing. Turns out this is nothing more than a meat suit.
Closing thoughts:
A very unique and interesting monster here. Actually it's pretty creepy and somewhat gross. Turns out it's like a pudgy armless, legless torso that slurps brains loudly though it's victims ear. Yuck! While this one is short it's for sure unique.

The Girl-Thing at the Train Station #23 (Horror You Crave Series)
By Julio Miranda
The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):
I honestly don't understand the monster’s issue with this guy. He seems like a decent enough bloke. They have a very nice conversation and then it decides to eat him. It makes this decision because it feels that he is impure. I'm mean no adult person is without fault or “sin” but there are varying degrees of these things and on the scale this guy is well toward the low end.
Closing thoughts:
I thought that the end was appropriate. It seems that the creature was not making good decisions on who was most corrupt of the human race. I thought this was going to turn into a twist at the very end but it didn't and I was glad.

The Thanksgiving Monster #28 (Horror You Crave Series)
By Julio Miranda
The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):
Another unique offering from Miranda. I actually kinda got the warm and fuzzies from this one. The monster seemed a decent type, granted with a bad sense of direction but personable. I like that it tries to help the kid and his family but the way in which he achieves that help is not great.
Closing thoughts:
Definitely did not expect this one to end the way that it did. I figured the monster would turn on the kid but this is not what happened. It's very interesting. The dinner scene is very awkward and somewhat stomach turning. The way the “turkey” is described is about as unappetizing as something can be.

Andrzej and the Friendly Snowman #6 (Horror You Crave Series)
By Julio Miranda
The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):
Friendly snowman my ass. More like asshole snowman. If violence toward children makes you uneasy then this is not the story for you. I mean this kid has a mother that loves him and what happens is absolutely going to kill her. Essentially the kid is just going to disappear but it's so much worse than that.
Closing thoughts:
To add insult to injury the snowman meets up with a buddy and they both have a good laugh. Not cool man! Not cool! That's not to say that it's not a good story. Well written and unique.

The Skeleton in the Mirror #5 (Horror You Crave Series)
By Julio Miranda
The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):
I'm just gonna say it...I hate the way this one ends. It's horrible! The dudes ex is a real bitch! She's right about one thing though he needs to clean himself up. It is not good for his daughter to see her father in a drug induced malaise. Honestly he's pretty pathetic when it comes to dealing with life. The bitch is horrible to him and all he keeps saying is how much he misses her. I can't imagine anyone missing her. However from what I can tell the bitch isn't fit to be a parent either. At least the father wants her. That hog-bitch even admits that she doesn't want her. And she's a really sweet little girl. Which makes dealing with her fate that much more difficult. It sucks ass! An interesting story until the end.
Closing thoughts:
This is actually the longest story in the series. It's twice as long as most of them. There's a bit more character development which ends in tragedy.
