You Shouldn't Have Done It Millie #18 (Horror You Crave Series)

By Julio Miranda

The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):

There are a couple of twists int his one. The first, I had a felling about. I mean who sends two guys to keep your girlfriend company? But the other, even though it was not a huge surprise, was interesting. The method of disposal was also very interesting. Makes me wonder why he had cotton candy and pizza too. Dude must constantly be hungry.

Closing thoughts:

I don't condone what she did but I also can understand the loneliness. The one thing that I can't stand is if you are going to do something like this do it yourself. Don't send your goons to do it. That's cowardly! This situation calls for hands getting dirty and those hands should be your own. So Manny can suck my dick!

My Sister's Grinning Stalker #21 (Horror You Crave Series)

By Julio Miranda

The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):

This story has a very nice creep factor to it. The dude is for sure very creepy. The mistake that they make is not calling the police right off. Although if any of you have seen some of those true crime shows you will know that the “authorities” can't do anything until someone makes a move. Now I know this is not the police's fault, their hands are tied. But so many crimes/murders/abductions could be prevented if they could. It's dead obvious this guy is dangerous.

Closing thoughts:

So everything is going great until the very very end of the story when the sibling gets arrested for murdering their sister. Um… “the fuck?” They have no physical evidence of anything! They don't even have proof that she is dead. No body, no crime scene, no murder weapon, no nothing! There is no way in hell this person could even have had an arrest warrant issued for them. Any DA worth their DNA would not have taken this on. There is just not enough evidence. So that bit sort of ruined the story for me a bit. But before that, it was creepy.

The Thing in a Forever Dream #7 (Horror You Crave Series)

By Julio Miranda

The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):

When dreams encroach on reality. Well not just dreams but horrific nightmares. My question is how long has this dream been going on and why is he having it. It almost seems like he is being punished for something and it must have been bad because the monster in his dream is some crazy shit!

Closing thoughts:

The one thing that upset me was that the dude is being a big dumb man. He refuses to seek out help because he is afraid that they will think that he is crazy. He apparently has no idea what crazy really is. Psychological professionals I'm sure have heard way worse things than what he has to say. Nightmares are normal next to a lot of other psychological issues. As you can probably guess things don't end well for him.

Breakfast of Champions #11 (Horror You Crave Series)

By Julio Miranda

The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):

Um, so yeah...this one starts out pretty interesting and then just gets very strange. Mind you, I'm not complaining, it's nothing if not original and fascinating but not really for the easily offended or disturbed. I'll be honest I was not expecting it to go in the direction that it did. One of my questions is, how is this kid just seeing his mothers weirdness now? I would think that this would be something that was part of her norm but it seems like this is a new development.

Closing thoughts:

The gore factor is not super high but there is some sexual content and it does involve a dead body and a child seeing his mother nude and orgasming so if you are easily offended or deturbed by these kinds of imagery then this is not the story for you. I just want to know what is up with that whole process that happens in the mother bedroom and how it is that a headless body can ejaculate. Just curious. There are the types of things this one brings up in ones mind.

I'll Never Forget Beatrice #19 (Horror You Crave Series)

By Julio Miranda

The Sexton’s musings (spoilers are likely):

This dude will never forget Beatrice for a damn good reason. The twist in this one was not necessarily unexpected, but certainly done in such a way that it turned into an “oh shit” moment. There is not too much in the way of gore. Just that one moment. I'm curious to know what kind of creature she is because it mentions scales.

Closing thoughts:

I do feel for the narrator. It would not be fun waiting your entire life for a monster from your childhood to catch up to you. I also feel for his best friend. It's as if life has decided to haul up and kick him in the balls over and over again. Not only has he been dealing with and asshole abusive father but now he doesn't even get to live his life. Oh and if he had killed his father he could claim self-defense or in the defense of another. He did concuss his mother that evening after all.
